The
Pyrenees form
a mountain-border between France
and Spain, hence they separate
the Iberian peninsula from the
rest of Europe. All in all you
can count more than twohundred
pinnacles that are in excess of
3000 meters.
Of course not all areas of the
Pyrenees are gettable for a daytrip.
Especially a trip through the
foothills can be recommended.
There you will find many ancient
ruins of the Cathar-castles.
The convents Saint Michel de Cuxa
and Saint Martin du Canigou which
is situated on the top of an hill
are likewise impressive.
During the hot summer months the
Pyrenees are a nice and worth
seeing refection due to the clear,
pure air.
